Persistent identifiers

A "persistent" identifier is an identifier that has the characteristic of being universally unique and immutable.

OAI identifiers

At first, when a notice is created in Cocoon, an OAI identifier is assigned to it. OAI identifiers can be broken down into 3 parts:: the type of identifier oai, the domain identifier crdo.vjf.cnrs.fr and the local identifier (e.g. cocoon-ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352). Thus, the identifier oai:crdo.vjf.cnrs.fr:cocoon-ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352 corresponds to an audio recording entitled "Bac et Dangem".
To access the records, whose location may possibly change, "permalinks" of the PURL (Persistent Uniform Resource Locators) type may be used. The POI system for PURL-based Object Identifier has been used for this purpose. POI is an application of the PURL system on OAI identifiers used within the framework of the OAI-PMH protocol. Thus, starting from an OAI identifier, the syntax of the PURL type url to be used is the following http://purl.org/poi/crdo.vjf.cnrs.fr/cocoon-ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352.
To access the data linked to a notice of a record or an annotation, another PURL identifier is used. This identifier points to the "master" version of the resource. Knowing the oai identifier of the record, the syntax of the url to use is as follows http://purl.org/net/crdo/data/cocoon-ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352. To cite or access a particular version of a resource, the syntax of the url to be used is as follows http://purl.org/net/crdo/data/cocoon-ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352.version1. For the "broadcasting" form of the data, the syntax of the url to be used is as follows http://purl.org/net/crdo/data/cocoon-ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352.diffusion (there is no version management for the broadcasting form).

DOI identifiers

DOIAt the same time as an OAI is assigned to the resource, it is also assigned a DOI. These DOIs (Digital object identifiers) can also be broken down into 3 parts: the type of identifier doi, the domain prefix 10.34847 and the suffix (e.g. cocoon.ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352). Thus, the identifier doi:10.34847/cocoon.ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352 corresponds to an audio recording entitled "Bac et Dangem".
To access the records, it is possible to use a resolver, such as doi.org. Thus, knowing a DOI, the syntax of the url to be used is the following https://doi.org/10.34847/cocoon.ce8a4a03-5083-3144-88ce-7cc4606e8352.

ARK identifiers

Then, when the resource is archived at CINES, a second identifier of type ARK is assigned to it. This identifier is divided into 3 parts: the type of identifier ark, the identifier of CINES 87895 and the identifier of the resource (e.g. 1.5-144259). Thus, the identifier ark:/87895/1.5-144259 corresponds to an audio recording entitled "Bac et Dangem".
The ARK identifiers may also include a part that allows you to locate (activate) the resource. This part is optional and can change over time. This part (also called addressing authority) corresponds to the url http://cocoon.huma-num.fr/exist/crdo/. Thus the url http://cocoon.huma-num.fr/exist/crdo/ark:/87895/1.5-144259 allows you to point to the corresponding record, thus forming another "permalien".
