Description(s): | Originally from Dingri, Tashi Yangzom moved to France in the early 2010s, and her daughter Passang joined her around 5 years later. Both talk about their linguistic resources and plurilingual practices in everyday life in France. In this extract, it's mainly Tashi Yangzom, the mother, who explains how she drew on her linguistic repertoire (and in particular her knowledge of Chinese) for her integration process in France, from learning French and the desire to maintain and pass on a common variety of Tibetan in exile, to abandoning her native variety of Tibetan.
