Un nouveau personnage apparaît (à 3 min.): le jeune Maung Thu Ta qui prend soin de sa mère en lui préparant un repas excellent. La fille du roi va se promener sur une barge royale et fait le voeu de respecter les cinq préceptes (sila). Un prince rencontre un ogre des eaux. Maung Thu Ta raconte à sa mère qu'il a vu la princesse. Le conteur décrit à nouveau comment le jeune homme prend soin de sa mère. (à 18 min. beaucoup de grésillement sur l'enregistrement). L'histoire illustre le respect que les enfants doivent aux parents. Maung Thu Ta rencontre la famille royale. Ensuite, un nouveau personnage fait son apparition: une ogresse. Elle rencontre la princesse et Maung Thu Ta. A la fin, la famille royale repart au palais et Maung Thu Ta les suit. (histoire incomplète coupée à 1h05 min.). The King’s daughter is taking a boat ride on the royal barges and she swears to respect the five Buddhist principles (sila). Then, a prince meets a water oger. Maung Thu Ta tells his mother he saw the princess. The storyteller describes again how the young man is taking good care of his mum. (at 18 min. there is a lot of crackling on the recording). The story illustrates the duties the children have towards their parents. Next, Maung Thu Ta meets the royal family. A new character appears: the ogress. She meets the princess and Maung Thu Ta. In the end, the royal family goes back to the palace together with Maung Thu Ta (the story is not complete and is cut at 1h05 min.). |
