A woman announces that she is going to get married. She describes her husband and her in-laws, and then her family in Amarapura (near Mandalay). She is happy to have met her husband, because he has a good status, education, and he is well mannered. Next, a man asks her questions (the sound is actually rather bad, because of background noise). She then describes her wedding dress, close to what royalty used to wear. Her parents told her they were descendants from a minister of the royal court. Afterwards, she talks about her wedding reception. A dialogue (at 10.50 min.) starts between the woman (Ma Soe) and the man (Maung Thi) regarding the husband. This time, she blames her husband for not being very brave, and for having Western manners. She also shares the way she has to prepare food for him (until 15.25 min.) The woman, who is actually the narrator, announces that this story is inspired from the book Mei Htway do. She then goes on with the story. (at 22.15) The woman announces ''p. 155'' (which is, according to the tape recording information, is a reference to the book Yaukya do a kyaung (Of Men) (the recording is cut at 22.46 min.)
Une femme annonce qu'elle va se marier et parle de son mari et de sa belle-famille, puis de sa famille d'Amarapura. Elle décrit son mari physiquement. Elle s'estime heureuse de l'avoir rencontré, pour son statut, mais aussi son éducation, il est galant. Un homme intervient et pose des questions (le son est très mauvais, avec des grésillements et des larsen). Elle décrit ensuite sa tenue de mariage, proche de celle de la royauté, ses parents lui ont d'ailleurs dit qu'ils descendaient d'un ministre de la période des rois. Puis, elle parle de la réception de mariage. Un dialogue d'engage (à 10.50mn) entre la femme (Ma Soe) et un homme (Maung Thi) à propos du mari. Cette fois-ci, elle l'accuse d'être peu courageux, d'avoir des manières occidentales, de la façon dont elle préparer à manger pour lui. (jusqu'à 15.25mn). La locutrice annonce ensuite que cette histoire d'amour est inspirée du livre Mè Htwé dô. Elle reprend ensuite le récit.
